2018 Three Rivers Intellectual Property Colloquium

The First Annual Three Rivers Intellectual Property Colloquium

Produced by the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and the Duquesne University School of Law, both in Pittsburgh, PA.

January 25-26, 2018

We invite you to share your papers and projects at a working papers colloquium for and among faculty in intellectual property law. We expect the primary participants to be those teaching at law schools in the Three Rivers region. We define the Three Rivers expansively: central and western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, eastern and northeastern Ohio, and western New York. Other faculty members are welcome to attend, space permitting. The total size of colloquium is expected to be 12-15 people, divided roughly between people with papers to share and people without.

Date and Time

Thursday, January 25, 2018 (dinner); Friday, January 26, 2018 (sharing papers, projects, and discussion)

Venue

University of Pittsburgh School of Law, 3900 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh, PA

Content

We welcome papers and scholarly projects at all stages of development, from nearly-completed journal articles and book chapters to preliminary sketches of projects at both small scales (essays) and large ones (books and beyond). The subject matter should concern one or more domains of intellectual property law. The colloquium will favor discussion and critique over presentation. Each paper or project will be allocated 45-60 minutes. The colloquium will not be open to the public or to students.

Fees and costs

All participants are responsible for their own transportation and lodging expenses. The host institutions will provide the welcome dinner and other meals during the colloquium.
