Under various names – the Penn-Temple-Wharton (PTW) Colloquium, the Philadelphia Colloquium, the Cyberlaw Colloquium – and since 2016 the Lastowka Cyberlaw Colloquium – a small band of law professors has been meeting roughly once per year since 2002 to share scholarly work in progress and bat around ideas on themes related to “law and cyberspace.” The label seems increasingly anachronistic; as we head farther into the 2020s, “law and technology,” “law and information,” “TechLaw,” and other phrase each seem more apt. The Colloquium nevertheless carries on as it has. Until it changes.

The Colloquium has been distinguished by participants’ commitment to free-flowing and direct conversations, to limited (and even non-existent) formal presentations by those sharing their work, and to extended consideration of each work included on its agenda.

About Greg Lastowka
Greg Lastowka was a founding member of what was originally known as the Penn-Temple-Wharton Colloquium and later a professor at Rutgers University School of Law (Camden). He died in 2015, and in 2016 the informal leadership of the Colloquium, together with his family, named the event in his memory.
Remembrances of Greg and his life and career can be found here, here, and here.
